About
At Hebert Psychological Assessments, we work with individuals across the lifespan—from children to adults—who are seeking greater clarity regarding their cognitive, emotional, behavioral, or psychological functioning. Many clients come to us feeling overwhelmed or uncertain about challenges related to attention, learning, mood, anxiety, or overall mental health and are looking for clear, reliable answers. Our team provides comprehensive, evidence-based evaluations tailored to the unique needs of each individual. We strive to go beyond diagnosis by offering personalized recommendations, meaningful insight, and practical next steps that help clients and families better understand themselves and move forward with greater confidence and direction.

Brain-Gut Disorders
In addition to comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological assessment services, Dr. Hebert has specialized training in the psychology of brain-gut disorders, also known as disorders of gut-brain interaction. These conditions involve complex interactions between the nervous system, digestive system, stress response, emotional functioning, and behavioral patterns. Psychological factors such as anxiety, trauma, chronic stress, emotional regulation difficulties, and autonomic nervous system dysregulation can significantly influence symptom severity and overall quality of life. Treatment is often provided collaboratively with gastroenterologists, primary care physicians, and other medical providers to support a comprehensive, integrated approach to care.

Specializations
Dr. Hebert works with individuals experiencing a variety of brain-gut and related health conditions, including Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), functional dyspepsia, functional constipation and diarrhea, functional abdominal pain syndrome, and gastroparesis, particularly in relation to symptom coping and behavioral management. Additional areas of focus include esophageal and upper gastrointestinal conditions such as globus sensation, functional heartburn, functional chest pain, dysphagia when related to anxiety or functional causes, and Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). Psychological services may also support individuals managing inflammatory bowel disease through stress management, coping strategies, treatment adherence, pain management, fatigue reduction, and adjustment to chronic illness. Dr. Hebert also works with individuals experiencing chronic nausea, chronic pelvic pain, fibromyalgia, and migraine disorders, which are frequently associated with nervous system and gut-brain dysregulation.
